Fisher Student Center

The Michael E. '67 and Karen L. Fisher Student Center serves as the “living room of the campus” at Bryant University. The Fisher Student Center offers various facilities, services, and programs for the entire Bryant community. Whether you’re attending a student organization meeting, collaborating on a group project, or grabbing a bite to eat, the Fisher Student Center provides a welcome space to learn, socialize and enjoy campus life.

The Information Center is located on the 1st floor of the Fisher Student Center. This is the central “hub” of information and services including ID cards, rental equipment, dry cleaning, discounted movie tickets, and general Bryant information.

One of the main functions of the Information Center is making Bryant ID Cards. There is a $30.00 replacement fee for lost, stolen or damaged ID cards. ID cards are needed for residential hall access, meal plans, free RIPTA rides (RI public bus), and identification.

The Fisher Student Center has 9 different meeting rooms located throughout the building ranging in size from a 12-person conference room to a 250-seat meeting room. The Fisher Student Center also has 5 different vendor spaces located throughout the building allowing for tabling event. Space reservation priority is given to recognized student organizations 7 days a week, however, we do allow limited requests of space for class-related seminars/workshops/presentations. Recognized student organizations, staff, or faculty that hold weekly meetings in the Fisher Student Center may reserve meeting spaces one semester in advance. It is the responsibility of the individuals who reserve the meeting room to be sure the room is clean before they leave.


To schedule a meeting or an event in the Fisher Student Center, student organizations should submit a request using 25Live. Completing a form on 25Live does not guarantee approval of the reservation. You will receive a confirmation email from the Scheduling Coordinator once all necessary steps are complete. For additional information regarding scheduling, please contact the Scheduling Coordinator at 401-232-6117.

The following Fisher Student Center policies are in place to support the health and safety of our guests and community, while supporting the mission, goals and needs of the FSC. All policies in the Bryant University Handbook also apply to the Fisher Student Center and must be adhered to. Guests are expected to comply with a reasonable request by any University or FSC staff member (professional or student. Not responding to University or FSC staff members’ requests in and of itself constitutes a serious violation of university regulations and disciplinary action can be taken.

  • Advertising/Display Cases/Window Decorating: Advertising in the FSC is managed by Student Activities. Poster displays and table cards are available throughout the building. Please refer to the Student Activities website for additional information. The Poster Printer Request Form clarifies poster policies and procedures.
  • Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverage containers or paraphernalia (listed in the University Handbook), open or closed, are prohibited in the Fisher Student Center unless contracted through Bryant Dining Services. Anyone who is asked to discard their cup or container should do so immediately.
  • Apparel: In accordance with health and safety regulations for public buildings, shirts and shoes are always required to be worn in all areas of the building.
  • Building Closing: All guests of the building will be asked to leave the FSC at the closing of the building; all guests are required to comply with our closing hours. No one is permitted to be in the FSC after closing time unless approved through the Manager of Student Center Operations or accompanied by a university official.
    Capacities: The FSC staff will be required to follow all space and room capacities that are dictated by the state of Rhode Island. The staff of the FSC will also be required to ensure that all setups meet health and safety guidelines.
  • Cleanliness: We ask that all guests take pride in the FSC and clean up after themselves. We ask community members to throw away their trash, to clean up their own mess, to put furniture back to its original space, and to report any maintenance or equipment issues.
  • Common Area Furniture: Although our furniture must remain in its designated lounge area/floor, we do allow our guests to move the furniture around in its designated area. We ask that our guests put the furniture back in its original place when they leave and that they report all damage immediately.
  • Decorations: All decorations will need to be approved through Department of Fisher Student Center Operations and must follow our very strict guidelines. Decorations must be removable, cannot be hung from the ceiling, and can only be adhered to using Blue Painters Tape, which can be requested at the Information Desk or ordered through WB Mason. Decorations must be flaming retardant according to their packaging, must adhere to current fire regulations and must be taken down immediately following the event. Balloons with helium are permitted but Mylar balloons are not. Glitter and confetti are also prohibited. The FSC is not responsible for injuries that may occur from installing or removing decorations. Damage done to any space including the walls, floors, or furnishings could result in a damage fee.   • Drugs: The sale, transfer, distribution, use, manufacturing, or possession of any drugs or drug paraphernalia are prohibited from Bryant University according to the University Handbook.
    Emergency/Incident Reports: In the event of an immediate emergency, call 401 – 232 – 6911. Should an accident or another type of incident occur in the Fisher Student Center, call 401 – 232 – 6983 and the Center Manager will report to help. The Center Manager may ask you to fill out an incident report and that report will be shared with the proper university officials.
  • Firepit: The Fisher Student Center staff are the only individuals who can turn the firepit on and off and they reserve the right to turn off the firepit at any time for health or safety reasons. The Firepit will be turned on and off according to the Information Center hours listed in our services section of this policy guide. To ensure their safety, we require that our guests do not touch the glass of firepit, do not sit on the ledge in front of the pit, and do not sit on the top of the firepit when the lid is closed. Additionally, cooking any food over the fire pit is not permitted.
  • Gambling: Gambling in any form is strictly prohibited, in and around the facility.
  • Pets/Service Animals/Emotional Support Animals: Pets are prohibited from the building. Animals will be asked to leave the building if they are disruptive or are an issue with other patrons.
    • Service animals: Only registered service animals, as defined by the ADA, are allowed in the building. Owners must supply authorized papers upon request.
    • Emotional Support Animals: Emotional Support Animals are not permitted inside the FSC in accordance with university policy.
  • Posting Policy: Paper flyers, advertisements, or signage is strictly prohibited from being hung in the Fisher Student Center and will be removed and discarded immediately. Student Organizations and University Departments can request to put 8x11 or 11x17 flyers or posters in the various display cases throughout the FSC.
  • Prohibited Items: The Fisher Student Center prohibits all items that are listed in the University Handbook. The following cannot be operated in the building: Bicycles (should be parked outside), Segway’s, Razor Scooters, Skateboards, and roller skates or roller blades. Other disruptive or potentially damaging items or behaviors will not be permitted. Razor scooters, bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, roller blades, hoverboards and other disruptive or potentially damaging items or behavior are not to be operated inside the building, only carried.
  • Sidewalk Chalk: Sidewalk Chalk is not permissible on brick walkways or on the Fisher Student Center exterior. Nor is it permissible on any brick/walkways on campus.
  • Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in the Fisher Student Center and within 20 feet of the building.
  • Table Tents/Brochures: Table Tent and Trifold brochures on our dining tables and coffee tables are prohibited. We will offer student organizations and departments the opportunity to advertise on our 4x6 plastic display holders that will be placed on all tables throughout the building. You can contact the Student Activities Office on the 3rd floor of the Fisher Center.
  • Televisions: Guests can request that any of the public televisions throughout the building be changed to a channel of their choice by going to the Information Center or speaking with an FSC Staff member. The FSC Staff have the right to comply or decline the request. The FSC has no responsibility for the content or views expressed on any channel.
  • Charitable, Religious, and Political Solicitations: Charitable, religious, and political solicitations on university property is not allowed unless permitted by the Vice President for Student Affairs/ Dean of Students. Permission for such solicitations will be granted only to the extent that such activities are consistent in time, place, and manner with the mission and activities of Bryant University.


    The Fisher Student Center will regularly review these policies and will make changes to our governing policies based on our internal and community needs. All policy changes will need final approval from the the Fisher Student Center's Manager of Student Center Operations.
